We travel to remote Rurutu Island in French Polynesia to swim with humpback whales in the pristine waters of the South Pacific. Rurutu is surrounded by a fringing reef, attracting many nursing whales during the annual humpback migration from Antarctica. While on the island, we stay with a traditional Rurutuan family and share meals with them.
You must be able to confidently swim at least 200 metres in open water unaided in order to participate in this program. No PADI certification is required.
