Ayub was born and raised in a remote village in Gilgit-Baltistan in the far north of Pakistan-- a spectacular region surrounded by natural beauty with snowcapped mountains and turquoise lakes. It is a popular destination for mountaineers and trekkers alike, where the Hindu Kush, Karakoram, and Himalaya ranges meet.

After finishing university twenty years ago, Ayub started working in tourism to share his knowledge guiding foreigners to experience Pakistani culture first hand. Ayub has traveled extensively himself, having visited the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia. He is certified as an official tour guide by Gilgit-Baltistan Ministry of Tourism and has organized all sorts of cultural, adventure, wildlife, and mountaineering programs across not just the mountains of northern Pakistan, but also around the rest of the country. When not organizing treks, Ayub runs a charity called the Ayub Hamdard Foundation to give the vulnerable the potential to take charge of their future and live a life of dignity. He is a dedicated and enthusiastic person with a great sense of humour.
