Juan is 32 years old and he lives in Cusco, Peru. He has been working as a professional guide in the Cusco region for over 9 years, leading groups on the Inca Trail, Salkantay trek, Lares trek, across the Sacred Valley of the Incas, and of course to Machu Picchu and the lost Inca city of Choquequirao (known as the sister city to Machu Picchu).
Juan obtained his Masters degree in tourism and is a certified guide across Peru. He specializes in offering authentic local experiences in Andean villages in the region, contributing back to local communities directly. He was born and raised in a very remote village near Choquequirao and comes from a large Quechua family with 9 siblings. Juan speaks three languages: his mother tongue Quechua, as well as Spanish and English. The Quechua language is spoken as the lingua franca in his home village and is native to the Andes. Juan is a proud ambassador of Inca culture today.
