This expedition traverses Iceland's spectacular south coast. During the day we pursue hidden locations between glaciers, waterfalls and hot springs, while at night we chase the aurora dancing overhead. We then fly over to Greenland's remote east coast to experience Arctic life in the icefjords.
The land of fire and ice is greener that one would guess. Iceland is extreme: blue glaciers crawl down mountain valleys, waterfalls pour over verdant cliffs, puffins perch along the shoreline, the northern lights shine overhead, and lagoons teem with ice bergs. We explore hidden locations all over Iceland's south shore, climb glaciers, and marvel at the power of nature while learning about this enchanting island.
The arctic is jaw dropping, and there's nowhere better to experience it than in Greenland. Vast glaciers calve into ice fjords, ship-sized icebergs flow towards the open ocean, Inuit settlements speckle the shorelines, and humpback whales navigate through the narrow waterways between islands, ice and land. In the evenings, the aurora borealis dances above the shoreline, illuminating the land and sea below.
Amanda Williams grew up on a Christmas tree farm in small-town Ohio with a good football team and even better marching band. She first caught the travel bug in 2005 when she travelled to New Zealand following a minor obsession with the Lord of the Rings series. Since then she has been to more than 45 countries on 6 continents, and is always on the lookout for her next big adventure. She's been to Iceland three times and is excited to make her first trek over to Greenland.
