Matt is a co-founder of Inertia and experienced expedition leader. He's previously lead some of our wildest programs in Socotra, Tonga, Greenland, the Congo and beyond. He’s been swimming with whales for the past three years. He's an avid photographer, documentarian and geopolitics nerd.
Gisèle is from Rurutu, French Polynesia and is the matriarch of our operations here. From coordinating our swims, preparing meals and getting the house ready, Gisèle is an essential team member on the ground. She is also the chairperson of the local tourism committee and is very involved in bringing eco and community-based tourism to Rurutu.
Nahuma is our boat captain, experienced whale-watcher, fishermen and local community leader from Rurutu. He was born on the island and learned traditional fishing from a young age. He’s a musician and member of a Polynesian dance troupe that’s toured around the world. Nahuma is also head of the local protestant church in Rurutu.
